We can see from the following scripture,
this is Jesus describing the Kingdom of God, which we think of as Heaven.
This shows us that the Kingdom of God is spiritual, not fleshly like our world.
Though we may not completely understand it, we know it is real.
Our senses are aware of the Kingdom of Heaven often after we are born again.
When Jesus was walking on the Earth,
people were aware of the Kingdom of God being in their midst
when they encountered Jesus.
The Holy Spirit bears witness of the Father and the Son.
Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold,
the kingdom of God is within you. Luke 17:21
And saying, Repent ye: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand. Matthew 3:2
I have not separated these words of Heaven in the Hebrew.
I will do so for this scripture to compare to the others.
Heaven contains God’s wrath as wrath is a part of God as He is a jealous God. Now, is there wrath in Heaven?
There must’ve been to some degree when God cast out Satan and his angels.
Since God is One who has wrath, can we separate Him from His wrath?
I don’t think so.
Heaven in Hebrew in this following verse means out ‘of the sky’.
Many things to consider here. Just thinking and learning…
Then the Lord rained upon Sodom and upon Gomorrah brimstone and fire
from the Lord out of heaven; Genesis 19:24
Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the Lord, and Satan came also among them. Job 1:6
So, Satan can come before the throne of God,
though Job 1 does not say God was seated on His throne,
isn’t He always, in essence, seated on His throne?
He did come down to walk amongst Sodom and Gomorrah
and see if that city was truly that evil.
Since God is Omnipresent then that makes sense:
Can any hide himself in secret places that I shall not see him? saith the Lord.
Do not I fill heaven and earth? saith the Lord. Jeremiah 23:24
In the year that king Uzziah died I saw also the Lord sitting upon a throne,
high and lifted up, and his train filled the temple. Isaiah 6:1
Though God was seated on His throne, we see the whole Earth was filled with His glory: And one cried unto another, and said,
Holy, holy, holy, is the Lord of hosts: the whole earth is full of his glory. Isaiah 6:3
The description given in Isaiah is filled with God’s holiness.
Daniel’s description of God on His throne
has some similarities to Ezekiel’s and Daniel’s visions:
And immediately I was in the spirit: and, behold, a throne was set in heaven, and one sat on the throne. And He that sat was to look upon like a jasper and a sardine stone: and there was a rainbow round about the throne,
in sight like unto an emerald.
And round about the throne were four and twenty seats: and upon the seats
I saw four and twenty elders sitting, clothed in white raiment;
and they had on their heads crowns of gold. Revelation 4:2-4
And above the firmament that was over their heads
was the likeness of a throne, as the appearance of a sapphire stone:
and upon the likeness of the throne
was the likeness as the appearance of a man above upon it.
And I saw as the colour of amber,
as the appearance of fire round about within it,
from the appearance of his loins even upward,
and from the appearance of his loins even downward,
I saw as it were the appearance of fire, and it had brightness round about.
As the appearance of the bow that is in the cloud in the day of rain,
so was the appearance of the brightness round about.
This was the appearance of the likeness of the glory of the Lord.
And when I saw it, I fell upon my face, and I heard a voice of one that spake. Ezekiel 1:26-28
I beheld till the thrones were cast down, and the Ancient of days did sit,
whose garment was white as snow, and the hair of his head like the pure wool: his throne was like the fiery flame, and his wheels as burning fire.
A fiery stream issued and came forth from before Him:
thousand thousands ministered unto Him,
and ten thousand times ten thousand stood before Him:
the judgment was set, and the books were opened. Daniel 7:9-10
Then, let’s go again to Revelation with its similarities to Daniel.
And in the midst of the seven candlesticks one like unto the Son of man,
clothed with a garment down to the foot,
and girt about the paps with a golden girdle.
His head and His hairs were white like wool, as white as snow;
and His eyes were as a flame of fire;
And His feet like unto fine brass, as if they burned in a furnace;
and His voice as the sound of many waters.
And He had in His right hand seven stars:
and out of His mouth went a sharp twoedged sword:
and His countenance was as the sun shineth in his strength. Revelation 1:13-16
The hope is that this whets your appetite
and encourages you to let the Holy Spirit teach you more of the Heavenly realm.
For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also. Matthew 6:21
