Abiding with God

Psalm 15

Lord, who shall abide in thy tabernacle?
Who shall dwell in thy holy hill? v 1

He that walketh uprightly,
and worketh righteousness,
and speaketh the truth in his heart. v 2

He that backbiteth not with his tongue,
nor doeth evil to his neighbour,
nor taketh up a reproach against his neighbour. v 3

In whose eyes a vile person is contemned;
but he honoureth them that fear the Lord.
He that sweareth to his own hurt,
and changeth not. v 4

He that putteth not out his money to usury,
nor taketh reward against the innocent.
He that doeth these things shall never be moved. v 5

Being close to God is the Question:
Who shall abide in Thy Tabernacle?
Who shall dwell in Thy Holy Hill?

That’s where I want to be.

Here are the answers to who gets to be close to God:
Walks uprightly (walking in love, aiming to please God)
Works righteousness (fears God, keeps and follows His commandments)
Speaks truth in his heart (Clean heart, submit to God’s word)
One who does not backbite (no slander)
One who does not do evil to his neighbor (does no wrong, does not harm)
One who does not take reproach against his neighbor (discredit, disgrace)
Considers a reprobate of no value (one who has rejected God and Truth)
Honors those that fear the Lord (value those who esteem God highly)
Who keeps an oath even when it hurts (even when difficult)
and does not change (no matter what the circumstances, or conditions)
He who lends to the poor without interest (lending to the Lord)
Who does not accept a reward against the innocent (no dirty money)

The promise:
He who does these things shall never be moved or shaken
