People like to mold God into their image
They take the things they like and leave the things they don’t
They give Him other qualities that do not belong to Him
A better way to say that is they twist His word
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God,
and the Word was God. John 1:1
If they refuse to love and honor Jesus as He is, they are serving another Christ
That is where loving the Truth comes in
If we love His word, no matter what it says, accept it at face value,
we are accepting God for Who He is
There will be things that we will find that we may not like in His word
We cannot change His word,
neither are we permitted to omit parts of His word
We cannot put our spin on it and if we do, we are failing to love the Truth
The Truth is Jesus
Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life:
no man cometh unto the Father, but by Me. John 14:6
As followers of Christ, we must submit to His word in humility,
remembering that He is God
Casting down imaginations, and every high thing
that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God,
and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;
2 Corinthians 10:5
Changing or ignoring who Christ really is
does not make one a follower of Christ,
but instead, such an one has created their own Christ,
who is not The Christ, The Messiah, God in the flesh,
the God of Heaven and Earth
Jesus Christ is Lord, even over our thoughts, if we allow Him
Can that be why He may say, “I never knew you. Depart from Me!” ?
Those who never knew Him will hear those words,
perhaps those who made their own Jesus or who followed another Jesus?
For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness
and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;
Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them;
for God hath shewed it unto them.
For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made,
even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God,
neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations,
and their foolish heart was darkened.
Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,
And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God
into an image made like to corruptible man,
and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things. Romans 1:18-23
We must accept God as He is
We cannot change Him
His word explains who Jesus is, that God sent His Son as a man
Jesus came to Earth and He was God in the flesh
For many deceivers are entered into the world,
who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh.
This is a deceiver and an antichrist. 2 John 7
