Woe unto you that desire the day of the Lord! to what end is it for you?
the day of the Lord is darkness, and not light.
As if a man did flee from a lion, and a bear met him; or went into the house,
and leaned his hand on the wall, and a serpent bit him.
Shall not the day of the Lord be darkness, and not light?
even very dark, and no brightness in it? Amos 8:18-20
There are some that seem to be looking forward to God’s Wrath.
They want to see God’s Wrath on the wicked.
I have heard them.
They wish the evil to be destroyed.
They also wish for all the people they think are bad to go to Hell.
God takes no pleasure in the death of the wicked.
Say unto them, As I live, saith the Lord God,
I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked;
but that the wicked turn from his way and live:
turn ye, turn ye from your evil ways;
for why will ye die, O house of Israel? Ezekiel 32:11
That is why He is so patient, giving souls the last opportunity to receive Him.
Often, Christians do not believe they will experience the Tribulation,
that they may escape by a secret rapture.
Thus their hope is in the secret rapture, which is not found in the bible,
to rescue them from the devastation about to come on the whole world.
Living in these times is a great honor,
and so would it be an honor if we were killed for Christ.
Jesus warned us many times in many ways,
and He gave us clear insight on what we will face:
And I say unto you my friends, Be not afraid of them that kill the body,
and after that have no more that they can do.
But I will forewarn you whom ye shall fear:
Fear Him, which after He hath killed hath power to cast into hell;
yea, I say unto you, Fear Him. Luke 12:4-5
Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you:
and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name’s sake. Matthew 24:9
Look at John’s vision, in Revelation, of the many martyrs:
And when he had opened the fifth seal,
I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God,
and for the testimony which they held:
And they cried with a loud voice, saying,
How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge
and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth? Revelation 6:9-10
Those who believe in the pretribulation rapture
have not yet realized the honor of sharing in His suffering.
They are mixing up the spiritual with the natural.
That I may know Him, and the power of His resurrection,
and the fellowship of His sufferings,
being made conformable unto His death; Philippians 3:10
Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.
2 Timothy 3:12
There will be a great falling away before the Lord returns:
Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come,
except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed,
the son of perdition; 2 Thessalonians 2:3
There is much work to do for the Kingdom.
Our time on Earth is very short,
and while we are here, everything we do for the Lord
counts toward Eternity in the Kingdom of God.
