“I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot. So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.” Revelation 3:15&16
Yes, if we are lukewarm, He is not pleased.
What can we do?
Choose Him, Choose Life:
“I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live” Deuteronomy 30:19
“He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me. And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me.”
Matthew 10:37&38
Don’t look back at what you left behind:
And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God. Luke 9:62
Keep Jesus as your primary focus:
“Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love. Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent.” Revelation 2:4&5
Jesus always tells us what we are doing wrong, along with a way to remedy it. He always gives a way of escape, a way to make things right before Him.
“There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.” 1 Corinthians 10:13
It can be difficult to ask the Lord to help you and choose to keep your focus on Him as your flesh wants what it wants and often desires the things of the world:
And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever. 1 John 2:17
