Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss,
that ye may consume it upon your lusts. James 4:3
Unanswered prayer
How to find God’s will so that you can pray according to God’s will
Sometimes it is not easy
Prayer can be hindered for many reasons
Finding out why can take some time
God allows us to learn and grow if that is what we have chosen to do,
that is, following Christ and bearing our cross
Husbands have a great responsibility before the Lord,
If they do not treat their wives properly, their prayers will be hindered:
Likewise, ye husbands, dwell with them according to knowledge,
giving honour unto the wife, as unto the weaker vessel,
and as being heirs together of the grace of life;
that your prayers be not hindered. 1 Peter 3:7
Have you ever ignored the poor?
Whoso stoppeth his ears at the cry of the poor,
he also shall cry himself, but shall not be heard. Proverbs 21:13
God will not be mocked, we sow what we reap
Be not deceived; God is not mocked:
for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. Galatians 6:7
Maybe instead of asking God, Why don’t you answer my prayer?
Our question to Him might be more beneficial, Is there anything
I have done or am doing that may be hindering my prayer?
The Lord’s Prayer explains prayer well from Matthew 6:
Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
and
And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
We will be forgiven as we forgive
Jesus said, If your brother has ought against you,
go reconcile to your brother before you come before Him in prayer:
Therefore if thou bring thy gift to the altar,
and there rememberest that thy brother hath ought against thee;
Leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way;
first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift.
Matthew 5:23-24
What is God looking for?
Who shall ascend into the hill of the Lord?
or who shall stand in his holy place?
He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart;
who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully.
He shall receive the blessing from the Lord,
and righteousness from the God of his salvation. Psalm 24:3-5
It is good to ask if you notice your prayers are not being answered,
Sometimes there are other reasons, such as timing,
and God may be working things out as answers to prayer can be a process
The important thing is seeking the Lord
to make sure we are not doing anything to block the answer
Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts:
And see if there be any wicked way in me,
and lead me in the way everlasting. Psalm 139:23-24

For if ye forgive men their trespasses,
your heavenly Father will also forgive you:
But if ye forgive not men their trespasses,
neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.
