It started way back when
Abel, the good guy was killed by Cain, the not-so-good guy
Joseph was sold into slavery by his brothers, then he was thrown in jail
for something he didn’t do and then, finally,
it all made sense as it was God’s plan
Saul tried to kill David multiple times
David was a wanderer, trying to escape Saul’s rage and fury
Job, the most famous good guy, who suffered seemingly without reason
The prophets were all good guys
Maybe not perfect, but the goodness of God was in them and with them
History says at least one of the disciples was boiled in oil
Another was hung upside-down and crucified
Stephen was stoned to death while preaching the gospel
Some good people die when the Lord has the capability to heal them
and extend their life on earth
If you decide God should not allow bad things to happen to good people,
you are not accepting a part of God’s character
Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us,
and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins. 1 John 4:10
God, who allowed Jesus to suffer the ultimate for us
Woe unto him that striveth with his Maker!
Let the potsherd strive with the potsherds of the earth.
Shall the clay say to him that fashioneth it,
What makest thou? or thy work, He hath no hands?
Woe unto him that saith unto his father, What begettest thou?
or to the woman, What hast thou brought forth?
Thus saith the Lord, the Holy One of Israel, and his Maker,
Ask Me of things to come concerning My sons,
and concerning the work of My hands command ye Me. Isaiah 45:9-11
He allows bad things to happen
That does not mean we are out of His favor,
nor does it mean we have done something wrong
as Job’s comforters wrongly assumed
It could be for a divine purpose or because someone else is cruel or careless or for a reason not yet understood or simply to glorify God
Jesus answered, Neither hath this man sinned, nor his parents:
but that the works of God should be made manifest in him. John 9:3
The next time your fleshly thoughts
want to find a fleshly reason to blame God, tell them to sit back down
We may never understand or it may take many years
if we are ever given understanding
The thoughts of God are far above our thoughts
Rest in Him, in His peace and in His love
Trying to figure everything out may not be the best way to spend your time
Focus on Jesus and let Him have His way in your life,
in every area of your being
He has a purpose, a purpose that fits into His kingdom
Let Him remold you
It will be well worth the frustration in the end
For the vessels He makes and remakes are for His purposes and His glory
