Anger is an emotion
It’s natural
It is an emotion that can come from a wrong or an offense,
an offense over injustices or an offense of pain
from a fleshly wound, emotional or otherwise
God gets angry
Jesus threw over the tables of the money changers
when they used His house for merchandise
rather than respecting that it was a house of prayer
God opened up the ground and swallowed up people when He was angry
How do we get angry and sin not?
The psalmist said he who can’t control his spirit is is like a city without walls
There are righteous reasons to be angry and anger that comes of the flesh
or sometimes righteous anger can become fleshly
if it is not in sync with God and submitted to Him
Either way, submitting our anger and thoughts to Jesus is the best method
Do not let the sun go down on your anger thereby giving place to the devil
Not letting a root of bitterness spring up
That is wretched and will choke out God’s fruit in your life
Anger of God’s righteousness must also be tempered, that is, to be in tune with Him and His word, spent in the proper way
So with these emotions that we were given, let us have the wisdom,
Lord, to use them for your glory as with everything else You have given us
Scriptural References:
When they arrived in Jerusalem, Jesus entered the temple courts and began to drive out those who were buying and selling there. He overturned the tables of the money changers and the seats of those selling doves. And He would not allow anyone to carry merchandise through the temple courts. Then Jesus began to teach them, and He declared, “Is it not written: ‘My house will be called a house of prayer for all the nations’? But you have made it ‘a den of robbers.’ When the chief priests and scribes heard this, they looked for a way to kill Him. For they were afraid of Him, because the whole crowd was astonished at His teaching. Mark 11:15-18
And the sons of Eliab; Nemuel, and Dathan, and Abiram. This is that Dathan and Abiram, which were famous in the congregation, who strove against Moses and against Aaron in the company of Korah, when they strove against the LORD: And the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed them up together with Korah, when that company died, what time the fire devoured two hundred and fifty men: and they became a sign. Notwithstanding the children of Korah died not. Numbers 26:9-11

But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble. Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded. Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to heaviness. Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up. James 4:6-10
Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath: Neither give place to the devil. Ephesians 4:26&27
For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ; And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled. 1 Corinthians 10:3-6
Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby many be defiled
