Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers:
for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness?
and what communion hath light with darkness?
And what concord hath Christ with Belial?
or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel?
And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols?
for ye are the temple of the living God;
as God hath said, I will dwell in them,
and walk in them; and I will be their God,
and they shall be my people.
Wherefore come out from among them,
and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing;
and I will receive you,
And will be a Father unto you,
and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.
2 Corinthians 6:14-18
We cannot walk together with those with whom we are unequally yoked
A Christian can also be in a different place or level than we are
We cannot join with them if they are not of the same mindset
Conflict will arise and distance will occur
We still have Pharisees
They are alive and well
Confining God and confining Christians to follow their doctrine
rather than the Holy Spirit
Stay away from those who would hinder your walk with Christ
So many Christians are only willing to go so far with the Lord,
only willing to give so much
There is a line whether it is due to fear or control
or refusal to give all and let the Holy Spirit be in charge
or choices they make to serve people or idols or doctrine
or anything other than the Lord Jesus Christ
Think of the parable of the ten virgins
If your lamp is full and theirs is not, they need to go and get their own oil,
that is the Holy Spirit, they need to be filled up with God
and nobody can do that for them, they must do that themselves
Lot’s wife was a believer
She loved the world
and as we all know, she was not equally yoked with Lot
Remember Lot’s wife.
Whosoever shall seek to save his life shall lose it;
and whosoever shall lose his life shall preserve it. Luke 17:32-33
There are Christians today who love the world:
Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world.
If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 1 John 2:15
If you’ve noticed a division from some people lately,
that may not be due to a conflict that seemed to be obvious
It may be because of a spiritual conflict that you may not see
Think not that I am come to send peace on earth:
I came not to send peace, but a sword.
For I am come to set a man at variance against his father,
and the daughter against her mother,
and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
And a man’s foes shall be they of his own household.
Matthew 10:34-36
If you’ve been separated from someone,
it may be for a time and it may be for all eternity
Continue on your journey
Keep carrying your cross and follow Jesus
Be at rest in the Lord if you are being separated from people
God’s grace on the relationship may have been lifted
for various reasons He sees that we do not
We do not need to be hindered in our walk with Christ
We may feel alone at times
We are not alone
We are walking with Christ
and that will be more apparent as time goes on
