Bear ye one another’s burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ. Galatians 6:2
It’s called empathy
Understanding what someone else might be going through
Having compassion
Ignoring their faults and just caring about them
Love covers a multitude of sins
And above all things have fervent love for one another,
for “love will cover a multitude of sins.” 1 Peter 4:8
Not sure we can have empathy without love for our fellow mortals
If you want to make God happy, love others
and lend a hand when you have the opportunity to do so
Love others the way you would love Jesus if He were here
Paul, talking about Onesimus,
If thou count me therefore a partner, receive him as myself.
If he hath wronged thee, or oweth thee ought,
put that on mine account;
I Paul have written it with mine own hand, I will repay it:
albeit I do not say to thee how thou owest unto me
even thine own self besides. Philemon 1:17-19
Don’t hold others in bondage, just love them freely and let go of offenses
And how can we forget this scripture?
If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar:
for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen,
how can he love God whom he hath not seen? 1 John 4:20
This all sounds simple and should be easy
Humility plays a part because when we are refusing to love someone,
even the most putrid person, we are choosing to disobey God
and to consider ourselves better than they are
It is hard to remember that Jesus’ love extends
to the most horrible persons out there
Sometimes we come into close contact with them
As we yield to Jesus, God’s love is able to flow through our hearts
If that love can flow, so can empathy, grace and mercy
God’s strength is there for us in the areas we are weak
Our prayer can be for those people to realize Jesus’ love for them,
and that their souls will be purified by the God of Heaven and Earth
To wish for their best in God is true tenderness in heart for them
By this shall all men know that ye are My disciples,
if ye have love one to another. John 13:35
