Beating People with the Bible

I am who I am
We all are
We have our strengths and weaknesses
Oftentimes our greatest strengths are also our greatest weaknesses
We have our talents
and those bad attributes we wish we could never have to deal with again
We have our personalities and the way we communicate
We all are the way we are because God created each of us
Jesus had emotions and He is our example
If you wonder how to handle something,
there most surely is an explanation in the word to teach us
I am fearless of confrontation
That works well when I am guided by the Holy Spirit
not so well when I am not
Just because God has taught me something,
that does not mean I should teach it to everyone else the same way
or at the same time
God showed me to never beat others with His word
While that should be an obvious directive,
it can be less obvious when His spirit is not sought
Be careful with your judgments and direction
He will clarify for you
Remembering that when the Lord corrects,
He also brings a way to fix the problem, a way to bring us closer to Him
That should always be our aim,
even with our enemies,
that they would see Jesus’ love for them through us
Ouch
That is not an easy task.
Just like everything you practice, it gets easier and easier as you carry the cross It gets harder to walk in the flesh
This is part of the work of God,
to love others and demonstrate the fruits of the spirit and His love to all
