We’ve all heard all the times the bible says we are not supposed to be afraid.
We can’t just make ourselves not be afraid, so how do we get there?
Where we are trusting God and are not afraid?
You can’t just pretend you are not afraid or that you don’t have fear.
The Bible mentions fear a lot.
God does not want us to be afraid of anyone.
We are only to fear Him who is able to cast us into Hell.
And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul:
but rather fear Him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell. Matthew 10:28
Fear God?
And then all other fear is gone?
Is that how it works?
Perfect love casteth out fear.
There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment.
He that feareth is not made perfect in love. 1 John 4:18
Fear God
Realize that God loves you and that He will take care of you.
Is it that simple?
Yes and no.
That is the truth.
How do we realize the truth from God’s word so that it can be reality in our hearts and lives?
Accept the truth.
Learning about the truth of fearing God and not man or circumstances is a good place to start.
Read about God’s fear and to understand why it’s important to fear Him.
The answers are in His word.
Then, learn about how He protects us and will take care of us no matter what happens.
That knowledge also comes from reading His word
and letting His Holy Spirit teach you about how much God loves you
and how He won’t let anything happen to you that is out of His will.
That can be a scary thought, that can invoke fear because look what happened to Job.
God can and does let bad things happen to us.
It’s all about trust and faith and letting Him be God.
Just like everything.
Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid,
neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest. Joshua 1:19
