Being Misunderstood

Your actions
Your deeds
What you meant to say
What you didn’t know
What you did know but didn’t reveal

Being misunderstood by your intentions is hard
Or having your heart misunderstood
People who don’t believe you
No matter how much you try to explain

Harshly judged
Grace not extended when you make mistakes
Sometimes it can be like a downward spiral
Broken communication
Can’t seem to be able to come to a conclusion or get it resolved

God sometimes chooses to heal those relationships
Sometimes He separates them
or allows them to be separated due to unforgiveness, hardness of hearts
or for a time or season
He knows all and sees all
He erases
He heals
He reminds us to take up our cross and follow Him
and to continue to love and not tally up offenses

This subject is also a good reminder of how we can treat others
when they do or say things we may misunderstand,
or judge
to remember to strive for Grace,
which to me means: Instant Forgiveness,
no delay,
let it go

Paul said:
If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men.
Romans 12:8

But then again:
Open rebuke is better than secret love. Proverbs 27:5

One of my gifts from the Lord is that of a plumbline
I cannot stand the crooked
It burns within me to speak,
to point out the misaligned
I strive to work in truth with love
Sometimes, it just has to be said,
there is no beating around the bush
and that is love

The prophets who spoke for God ticked a lot of people off
Jesus Himself said many things that were taken offensively
Sometimes it is hard to know the best timing or if there is timing
But a watchman on the wall is responsible for what he sees, to warn the people
I’m sure the watchman on the wall
had many people think he was speaking out of order
If he does not speak out, then he will have the guilt on his head:
Son of man, I have made thee a watchman unto the house of Israel:
therefore hear the word at my mouth,
and give them warning from me.
When I say unto the wicked,
Thou shalt surely die;
and thou givest him not warning,
nor speakest to warn the wicked from his wicked way,
to save his life;
the same wicked man shall die in his iniquity;
but his blood will I require at thine hand.
Yet if thou warn the wicked,
and he turn not from his wickedness,
nor from his wicked way,
he shall die in his iniquity;
but thou hast delivered thy soul.
Again, When a righteous man doth turn from his righteousness,
and commit iniquity,
and I lay a stumblingblock before him,
he shall die:
because thou hast not given him warning,
he shall die in his sin,
and his righteousness which he hath done shall not be remembered;
but his blood will I require at thine hand.
Nevertheless if thou warn the righteous man,
that the righteous sin not, and he doth not sin,
he shall surely live, because he is warned;
also thou hast delivered thy soul. Ezekiel 3:17-21

Jesus said and did a lot of things that riled people so much that they shouted,
“Crucify Him! Crucify Him!” (John 19:6)

The feeling of being misunderstood is something we have all experienced
at one time or another
At times our flesh will get in the way
At times, we have to risk that out of obedience to God
to speak His word or to stand up for righteousness
that the world does not understand

We have a God who understands every single thought,
every intention, every deed,
a God who understands us, completely
No matter what we meant, He gets it
and He loves us no matter what
