Being Offended at Jesus’ Words

You talk about offenses in Your word
About how we shouldn’t be offended
about how some people are offended at Your words
You warn us not to cause an offense to the little ones
that is, those who are vulnerable (Matthew 18:3-7)
The disciples were offended when people spoke against You
The offered to call down fire from heaven
and You rebuked them:
“You know not what spirit you are of!” (Luke 9:50-56)
People, in general, do not like to be corrected
If we choose to walk with You, we must be pliable, soft-hearted
and open to correction
A fool is not interested in correction
A wise person is open to Your words, humble and willing to learn (Proverbs 12:1)
We are to be like clay in your hands
At times, on the potter’s wheel,
pounded and remolded to make us more like You (Isaiah 45:9)
