Being Perfect Before God

What does that mean exactly?
I can’t say I understand it entirely
But here’s what I know:
Jesus told us to be perfect:
Be ye therefore perfect,
even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect. Matthew 5:48
For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro
throughout the whole earth,
to shew himself strong in the behalf of them
whose heart is perfect toward him. 2 Chronicles 16:9a

The Bible is never wanting us to strive for fleshly anything,
perfection included
Being perfect in Him
Washed
Cleansed
Purified

No barrier between us and God
Jesus paves the way
that we can have a direct line of fellowship
and communication with the Father
No hindrances
No barriers
No sin
He hears us, we hear Him
We seek His will
We know Him
He knows us
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins,
and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9

Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight:
but all things are naked and opened
unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do. Hebrews 4:13

Again, not speaking of the flesh
we will never be perfect in the flesh
Naked and bare like Adam an Eve were
before sin put a barrier between them and God

Perfection in the earthly sense is not where it’s at
God honors a few people in the Bible when He speaks of them
Some He honored who were less than perfect in our sight,
even less than perfect in His sight
They still received honor from God
That does not mean they were without fault

Noah, obedient man whose life was spared:
But Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord. Genesis 6:8

Lot, who was warned by the Angels of God of Massive Destruction:
And delivered just Lot,
vexed with the filthy conversation of the wicked:
(For that righteous man dwelling among them, in seeing and hearing,
vexed his righteous soul from day to day with their unlawful deeds;)
2 Peter 2:7-8

Job, our example of Godly suffering:
My wrath is kindled against thee, and against thy two friends:
for ye have not spoken of me the thing that is right,
as my servant Job hath. Job 42:7b

David, God’s hand was on him his entire life:
Because David did that which was right in the eyes of the Lord,
and turned not aside from any thing that he commanded him
all the days of his life, save only in the matter of Uriah the Hittite. 1 Kings 15:5

Josiah, the most righteous king in all of time:
And like unto him was there no king before him,
that turned to the Lord with all his heart,
and with all his soul, and with all his might,
according to all the law of Moses;
neither after him arose there any like him. 2 Kings 23:25

Mordecai through wisdom saved Gods people:
And Mordecai went out from the presence of the king
in royal apparel of blue and white,
and with a great crown of gold,
and with a garment of fine linen and purple:
and the city of Shushan rejoiced and was glad.
The Jews had light, and gladness, and joy, and honour. Esther 8:15-16

Joseph sold into slavery by his brothers to later save his father’s household:
And God sent me before you to preserve you a posterity in the earth,
and to save your lives by a great deliverance.
So now it was not you that sent me hither,
but God: and he hath made me a father to Pharaoh,
and lord of all his house,
and a ruler throughout all the land of Egypt. Genesis 45:7-8

Peter, was given the revelation of Christ and still denied him thrice:
And Jesus went out, and his disciples, into the towns of Caesarea Philippi:
and by the way he asked his disciples,
saying unto them, Whom do men say that I am?
And they answered, John the Baptist:
but some say, Elias; and others, One of the prophets.
And he saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am?
And Peter answereth and saith unto him,
Thou art the Christ.
And he charged them that they should tell no man of him. Mark 8:27-30

Paul an enemy of Christians converted
and wrote several books in the New Testament,
the inspired word of God and gave instruction to God’s people in righteousness:
This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation,
that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners;
of whom I am chief.
Howbeit for this cause I obtained mercy,
that in me first Jesus Christ might shew forth all longsuffering,
for a pattern to them which should hereafter believe on him to life everlasting.
1 Timothy 1:15-16

Stephen was honored by being able to see a Jesus
seated at the right hand of the Father
as he was being stoned to death, not an earthly litmus test:
And said, Behold, I see the heavens opened,
and the Son of man standing on the right hand of God.
Then they cried out with a loud voice,
and stopped their ears,
and ran upon him with one accord,
And cast him out of the city, and stoned him:
and the witnesses laid down their clothes at a young man’s feet,
whose name was Saul. Acts 7:56-58

John, seemingly perfect even in a fleshly sense,
was given the Book of Revelation
after he was banished to the island of Patmos
because he didn’t die
from the boiling oil they tried to kill him in,
after Patmos, Ephesus
John wrote the only book that promises a reward
just for reading and taking it to heart:
Blessed is he that readeth,
and they that hear the words of this prophecy,
and keep those things which are written therein:
for the time is at hand. Revelation 1:3

So, next time you don’t feel perfect, that’s okay,
We mortals see things differently than does God
Above is a partial list of many upright persons of the bible
Some had listed faults, others not, God still saw them as perfect
Because their perfection was their faith in Him
and other traits that we may not see that God looks for in all of us

God is the decider of our perfectness or lack thereof
Just do your part in the spiritual,
and your best in the natural with trust in Him
Don’t hide from God,
which is how a barrier comes in between
Confess sin and accept forgiveness
and do all the things you know
and try to learn more
and love God and your neighbor as yourself
That is how you will be rewarded in this life and in the life to come eternal life:
Then Peter said, Lo, we have left all, and followed thee.
And he said unto them, Verily I say unto you,
There is no man that hath left house,
or parents, or brethren, or wife, or children, for the kingdom of God’s sake,
Who shall not receive manifold more in this present time,
and in the world to come life everlasting. Luke 18:28-30
