By reading God’s word, we can see how God’s people made it through famines and other difficult times.
Sometimes there was so much famine, people resorted to cannibalism.
Jezebel hated Elijah because he was a man of God and he was able to pray for rain
and to pray to withhold rain. Jezebel did not understand she was fighting against God, not Elijah.
That will never work.
Some people wanted things from God, but did not receive them.
Others received blessings even though they were not godly.
The Pharoah of Egypt was used of God to save the Jews.
God gave Joseph prominence and stature to bring about His will.
God gave Joseph great favor in Pharoah’s sight and he trusted and honored Joseph.
That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven:
for He maketh His sun to rise on the evil and on the good,
and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust. Matthew 5:45
God has the wisdom we need. We need to ask and we will know when we have the fear of the Lord.
God’s wisdom and the fear of the Lord go hand in hand and you can’t have one without the other.
Right now, some say to buy this stock, to buy precious coins, to store up earthly commodities
such as food and to prepare for life without electricity.
Each person is to seek the Lord Jesus and ask for wisdom.
There are many ways to prepare, but we could suffer a catastrophe
and all of what we have stored up could be ruined in an instant.
That is why seeking the Lord is always the best idea. He knows what is coming.
We will be disappointed at times because we might not have everything we want.
If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not;
and it shall be given him. James 1:5
Jesus will help us to prioritize our time and our purchases and what each of us needs to do in our lives and those we are responsible for. We will all suffer just as Jesus warned us. It is part of being in this world.
It is also part of the End Times. Not being able to buy or sell will draw us even nearer to God who will meet our needs. Only God knows the specific circumstances we will go through. Stay close to Jesus.
And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul:
but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell. Matthew 10:28
