But when he saw many of the
Pharisees and Sadducees come to his baptism,
he said unto them, O generation of vipers,
who hath warned you to flee from the wrath to come?
Bring forth therefore fruits meet for repentance: Matthew 3:7-8
The doctrine of man can sound really good
Some of it has truth
Some of it is what we want to hear, somewhat of a sweeter gospel
There is not much about Judgment or Hell
or Repentance after you have received Salvation by Grace
Not much about following the commandments
Not much about carrying our crosses daily
No need to worry about not forgiving your neighbor
and not being forgiven by God Himself
Not much responsibility at all from each person toward God
In fact, some teach that we are Predestined to Salvation
There are scriptures about Predestination in the Bible
Many people think this applies to them only, that is,
those who have already received Salvation
and some even teach that God chose them for Salvation
The truth is, He created us all in His image
and He died for all mankind
All, everyone, every single human
Nobody was left out
Some doctrines of men teach
that we were chosen and created to be good or evil
This is false
The Lord hath made all things for himself:
yea, even the wicked for the day of evil. Proverbs 16:4
God did not make men evil, that is their choice
He will use any one for His purposes,
like He did Pharoah or even Judas
if they are willing subjects
How do you protect yourself from the false doctrine of man,
the modern day Pharisees and Sadducees?
Love the truth, follow hard after God’s heart
as He will lead you and guide you into all truth
and do not resist the Holy Spirit
Ye stiffnecked and uncircumcised in heart and ears,
ye do always resist the Holy Ghost: as your fathers did, so do ye. Acts 7:51
If we seek Wisdom, we will surely find it:
If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God,
that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not;
and it shall be given him. James 1:5
This also comes after the fear of the Lord,
which we should keep and consider:
And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul:
but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.
Matthew 10:28
The Once Saved, Always Saved doctrine
teaches that once one is Saved by Grace,
one’s predestination has been solidified and established
and there is nothing to fear
Wrong
We should never take God for granted, ever
The problem with the modern-day Pharisees and Sadducees,
is they are relying on what other men have been taught
That makes it really difficult to hear the truth from the Holy Spirit
because their doctrine adds some elements of truth
and even uses scriptures to prove their point,
just like the Pharisees and Sadducees did when Jesus walked on the earth
They followed the Law
They weren’t open to
the workings and revelations of the Holy Spirit through Jesus
The simplest way to think of it is,
our relationship with Jesus is real and He is alive
Our relationship with Him must be priority,
He is to be our first love
We must not trust in any other person or teaching if we belong to Him
and want to serve Him, otherwise, we will be misled
Scriptural References:
Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come,
he will guide you into all truth:
for he shall not speak of himself;
but whatsoever he shall hear,
that shall he speak:
and he will shew you things to come.
John 16:13
If ye love me, keep my commandments.
John 14:15
And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:
Hebrews 9:27
Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord,
shall enter into the kingdom of heaven;
but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
Matthew 7:21
And he said to them all, If any man will come after me,
let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.
Luke 9:23
But if ye forgive not men their trespasses,
neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.
Matthew 6:15
And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish;
because they received not the love of the truth,
that they might be saved.
2 Thessalonians 2:10
