Borrowing trouble
It’s easy to do
Worry about this and that
Let our minds get clogged with what we see,
what we hear, what we experience
Don’t borrow trouble
We hear this is going to happen and that is going to happen
And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled:
for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. Matthew 24:6
It can be very difficult to stay focused on Jesus when all the world is in chaos
Do all the things you know to do to keep your mind stayed on Him
Pray, Worship Him, Read the Word, Fellowship with other believers,
Study the Holy Bible
Jesus says borrowing trouble another way:
Take therefore no thought for the morrow:
for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself.
Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof. Matthew 6:34
Either way, Jesus wants us not to get caught up in the cares of this world
We pray, Thy Kingdom Come, Thy Will be done
Trusting that His will will be done and resting in that
Easier said than done
Practice makes perfect
Keeping our eyes on Him in spite of what is going on around us
is the most excellent way to follow Christ
Casting down imaginations,
and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God,
and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;
2 Corinthians 10:5
Since that is nearly impossible with the human mind,
it can be achieved with help from the Holy Spirit,
laying down your burdens at His feet, a righteous goal,
and letting Him carry your sorrows and frustrations and concerns
The only way we can be free from the cares of this world is to focus on Christ
