Then he said unto them, Go your way, eat the fat, and drink the sweet,
and send portions unto them for whom nothing is prepared:
for this day is holy unto our Lord: neither be ye sorry;
for the joy of the Lord is your strength. Nehemiah 8:10
From Strong’s Greek Lexicon:
Joy, gladness, a source of joy. From chairo; cheerfulness, i.e. Calm delight.
Calm delight is my preference.
Calm delight in Jesus.
Who or what else on this Earth is worthy of feeling joy about all the time?
Not a thing, not a person, not a false god.
It’s a sense of belonging, of acceptance,
a sense of never being alone to face any challenges.
Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit.
Psalm 51:12
Remember when you first realized Who Jesus was?
That was the best day of my life, when I found the treasure of Jesus.
I want to remember that and experience the feeling of Salvation every day.
Knowing that I am with Him, that He is my king and my God
and that He is all powerful.
Without His granting permission, nothing will be allowed to happen to me.
We can be assured that Jesus will be with us through thick and thin,
through the good times and the bad.
If we maintain the fear of the Lord
and accept His forgiveness that He bought with a price, we are well on our way.
Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love.
Revelation 2:4
Solomon lost his first love.
He turned his back on God.
Solomon disobeyed God by marrying foreign wives
who turned his heart away from the Lord.
These things have I spoken unto you, that My joy might remain in you,
and that your joy might be full. John 15:11
The directives the Lord gives us
are for our boundaries to keep us safe from the wiles of the devil.
If you see instructions from the Lord, they are there for your protection.
Listen to them, honor the Lord.
Let your joy be full.
