And He said to them all, If any man will come after Me,
let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me. Luke 9:23
Carrying Your Cross
It’s hard to understand until you realize what it all means
Once you see Him, you cannot look back
Slowly, He takes away the dross
The things of this world that we didn’t even realize we were attached to
Up, up, up
That cross can get heavy and wearisome
It is not easy to carry
On the straight and narrow,
illuminated by His word
But he knoweth the way that I take:
when he hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold. Job 23:10
There will be many distractions
Many who will wander away
Many who are not dedicated
Those you thought you could trust,
those whom you thought were walking along side of you
You may or may not meet them again on this journey called life
You cannot do this on your own merit
His ways are higher
None of us are worthy
None of us can live up to our own ideal
of what it means to be a follower of Jesus
Perfection is not what He is asking of us
Let us keep Him in the most important position in our lives
There is no other god or idol who can measure up to our God,
the Creator of Heaven and Earth
We each are precious to Jesus and He longs for our fellowship
And He longs for His house to be filled
Continue to carry your cross
and love those He gives you the opportunity to help
Bring them into the Kingdom
And continue your walk, asking for strength and courage as you need it
