Choices

Everything is a choice
Every single thing
Every moment
Everything we encounter
Every one we meet
Every word we speak
Every action, every deed, or lack thereof

Whether we spend our time for the Lord
The bar is high if you allow yourself to consider your choices
Movies, music, whatever we spend our time on, we deal with choices
We can’t be perfect, that is true
Even how we spend our time in conversation, we have choices
Are we gossiping?
Participating in division?
It often comes down to loving the world, or not
Loving the Kingdom, or not
Putting our flesh above the Spirit of God

Perhaps we could be helping or speaking out for those who are suffering
Remembering when we serve the least of these, we have done it for Jesus
I mention these things because
I have made poor choices, even bad choices, too many times to count
For some, I have requested forgiveness, others are long forgotten by me

Choose ye this day whom you will serve
If we choose life, our blessings will be numerous
and God’s grace will be upon us
If we choose the cursing route, rather than blessing,
that is participating in those deeds that bring death and not life
We are among the many worldly persons who walk on the earth
The straight and narrow path is hard to find
The Bible says we are a new creature
So many commands and exhortations are hard to do in reality
or rather in the flesh, we need the Spirit of God to lead us
and guide us and to strengthen us:
Forgive, love our enemies, serve the Lord with gladness,
walk in the newness if life,
Choices of love or hate
good or bad
life or death
We all have them
I can’t tell you what yours are, nor can I tell you how to choose
That is between each of us and our Savior
I can tell you that every time we choose Him,
we will have made the right choice, no matter what

Scriptural References:

And if it seem evil unto you to serve the Lord,
choose you this day whom ye will serve;
whether the gods which your fathers served
that were on the other side of the flood,
or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell:
but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.
Joshua 24:15

Behold, I set before you this day a blessing and a curse;
A blessing, if ye obey the commandments of the Lord your God,
which I command you this day:
And a curse, if ye will not obey the commandments of the Lord your God, but turn aside out of the way which I command you this day,
to go after other gods, which ye have not known.
Deuteronomy 11:26-28

I call heaven and earth to record this day against you,
that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing:
therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live:
Deuteronomy 30:19

And that ye put on the new man,
which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.
Ephesians 4:24

Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:
Philippians 2:5

And the King shall answer and say unto them,
Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it
unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.
Matthew 25:40

And be not conformed to this world:
but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind,
that ye may prove what is that good,
and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
Romans 12:2

Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world.
If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
1 John 2:15
