We have to take what the whole word of God says
To find the truth, we cannot pick and choose
Some call it cherry-picking, that is, taking scriptures out of context,
making sure that what you are reading
is including the surrounding scriptures,
but we also must include all applicable scriptures,
both in the Old and New Testaments
This amounts to a lot of studying and prayer to understand the Word of God, the Bible, and Jesus as the Word
It is not simple by any means
There are intricate understandings and revelations
that Jesus teaches us throughout the Bible
Understanding the importance of the blood sacrifice in the Old Testament:
And Moses took the blood, and sprinkled it on the people, and said,
Behold the blood of the covenant,
which the Lord hath made with you concerning all these words. Exodus 24:8
This helps us to appreciate the meaning of Jesus dying on the cross,
the shedding of Jesus’ blood, God in the flesh:
For this is My blood of the new covenant,
which is shed for many for the remission of sins. Matthew 26:28
That is a revelation and wealth of knowledge
that we will not appreciate with fleshly understanding
This has to be made important by the Spirit of God in our hearts
and with our spiritual understanding as taught to us by the Holy Spirit
There are many metaphors and secrets of hidden treasures in the Bible
The gospel is foolishness to the flesh
But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God:
for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them,
because they are spiritually discerned. 1 Corinthians 2:14
Jesus hid the truth from some because He knew what was in their hearts
If you see spiritual truth, you are blessed as God has opened your eyes
When Jesus came into the coasts of Caesarea Philippi,
He asked his disciples, saying,
Whom do men say that I the Son of man am?
And they said, Some say that thou art John the Baptist: some, Elias;
and others, Jeremias, or one of the prophets.
He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am?
And Simon Peter answered and said,
Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.
And Jesus answered and said unto him,
Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona:
for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee,
but My Father which is in heaven. Matthew 16:13-17
