God is your source, our sustenance.
People are not your source.
Not for finances.
Not for love.
Not for trust.
Not for anything.
If we look to people for our needs, they are bound to let us down.
Jesus is our source.
Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat?
or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?
(For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:)
for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.
But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness;
and all these things shall be added unto you. Matthew 6:31-33 KJV
Jesus provides for us what we need, who we need,
as well as He draws us closer to Him so He can fulfill our need for Himself.
If we look toward people or other things to satisfy us,
it will surely lead us into sin and idolatry.
We go without sometimes for reasons we may not understand.
God teaches us in those times and gives us compassion for others
who may have similar experiences.
The fool never learns from mistakes.
Those who do not fear God will end up in misery
in this world and the world to come.
Those who serve another master will be deceived and find the truth one day.
That day may be too late for them to change their course.
Wickedness and pride will swallow up the soul without Christ.
And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart
was only evil continually.
And it repented the Lord that he had made man on the earth,
and it grieved him at his heart.
And the Lord said,
I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth;
both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air;
for it repenteth me that I have made them.
But Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord. Genesis 6:5-8 KJV
Let each of us hope to find grace in the eyes of the Lord.
God made a way for us to be reconciled unto Him,
He sent His son to be the Savior of the world.
Being justified freely by His grace
through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: Romans 3:24 KJV
