Remember Hall Monitors?
So many Christian Brethren Monitors out there
These are the ones who want to control
They think they know how everything should be
You must say things to their liking and understanding
or you will be subject to their correction
But woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites!
For you shut up the kingdom of heaven against men;
for you neither go in yourselves,
nor do you allow those who are entering to go in. Matthew 23:13
They are ready to reprimand you
and even try to tell you what to say or how to think
They are trying to keep you in order
They might follow the laws of God, most often without grace or mercy
He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good;
and what doth the Lord require of thee,
but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?
Micah 6:8
Sometimes they are kind, sometimes not
But the end result is that you are to obey them
and do what they say or… they’ll report you?
We all are subject to Jesus and His Holy Spirit
We are not subject to the Law, but the fulfillment of the Law
The Law, such as the 10 Commandments, teaches us guidelines
While it is wise to help each other, there is a limit to what that means
we are not in charge of people
We are also not to obey man but God
Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said,
We ought to obey God rather than men. Acts 5:29
Letting the Brethren say and do
what they feel they need to do or say before the Lord and others is best
Not all the prophets said things people liked to hear
There were many times people tried to shut them up,
like the Christian Brethren Monitors
If you see a Brethren in error, and the Lord directs you,
or compels you to speak out against any error, by all means do so,
otherwise you are fearing man rather than God
Each of us will answer to the Lord for every decision we have made,
even for our very word we have spoken, for our attitudes and our intentions
Pray for your Brethren and love them
and let them be unless the Lord directs you otherwise
Each of us is very different, and all things should be done in love,
no matter what is being said
Speaking the Truth in love, loving our enemies
and praying for each of our Brethren to fulfill their purpose before the Lord
