Clanging Cymbals

Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels,
but have not love,
I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal.
And though I have the gift of prophecy,
and understand all mysteries and all knowledge,
and though I have all faith,
so that I could remove mountains,
but have not love,
I am nothing.
And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor,
and though I give my body to be burned,
but have not love,
it profits me nothing.
1 Corinthians 1-3

Love is hard to find
Real Love
Sure, you can find the superficial love,
that kind is easy, and everywhere
But I’m talking about Real Love
A person who allows God to love through them
as His children,
who represent Him

Love can feel so strong
But when the rubber meets the road,
it can disappear,
sometimes easily

Some people are easy to love,
others are not
Those can be taxing and a test of our devotion to Christ:
If a man say, I love God,
and hateth his brother,
he is a liar:
for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen,
how can he love God whom he hath not seen? 1 John 4:20

Jesus asked:
For if ye love them which love you,
what reward have ye?
do not even the publicans the same?
Matthew 5:46

I’m sure we’ve all experienced flimsy love,
conditional love
That can vanish into thin air
when you say something or do something the other person didn’t like
Or maybe you’re the one who chose not to love
when someone did or said something you didn’t like?
Allowing love to grow cold

Let us not allow our love to grow cold
or be plagued with bitterness

Love those better than you
Love those less than you
Love those who hurt you
Love those who offended you
Love those who wronged you
Love all, even those who despitefully use you and abuse you
that you may be called children of your Father who us in Heaven
the next line on that is:
for He maketh his sun to rise on the evil and the good
and sendeth rain on the just and the unjust.
In other words,
life isn’t perfect,
neither are relationships
and even though things come up,
that is expected,
Let His love reign

Scriptural References:

But I say unto you,
Love your enemies,
bless them that curse you,
do good to them that hate you,
and pray for them which despitefully use you,
and persecute you.
That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven:
for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good,
and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust. Matthew 5:44-45

And because lawlessness will abound,
the love of many will grow cold. Matthew 24:12

Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God;
lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you,
and thereby many be defiled. Hebrews 12:15
