Clean Hands and a Pure Heart

Who shall ascend into the hill of the Lord?
or who shall stand in his holy place?
He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart;
who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully.
He shall receive the blessing from the Lord,
and righteousness from the God of his salvation. Psalm 24:3-4

How do we wash our hands and our hearts?
Jesus said, Not that which goeth into the mouth defileth a man;
but that which cometh out of the mouth, this defileth a man
. Matthew 15:11
We cannot even see our sin unless Jesus shows us
We can learn about what sin is from reading His word,
as the Holy Spirit teaches us and leads us into all truth,
being diligent to walk in His ways, but until we see it,
sin just has its way in our life
If I had not come and spoken unto them,
they had not had sin: but now they have no cloke for their sin.

John 15:22

Jesus does not reveal sin to all
If He reveals it to you, it is because He loves you
and wants you to be closer to Him
For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth,
and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth
. Hebrews 12:6
He gives us a hand up, ways to overcome
The Lord disciplines those whom He loves
Don’t ever be afraid to show Jesus your sin
He sent His Holy Spirit to us to help us to be strong in Him,
to do what is right
Without Him, we cannot be successful

Some He hides the truth from
God looks on the heart
and He reaches out to Who He reaches out to
He does not see each of us the same way we see ourselves
If you hear His voice, harden not your heart
To cleanse our hearts and hands, to keep them pure,
to keep them clean is no easy task
It takes effort on our part
Relinquishing the flesh and taking up our cross to follow Him,
to walk with Him, to listen
when He is asking us to give up something for Him
that is interfering in our walk with Him
Those comforts of the flesh!
How they deceive us and make us lethargic in our walk with Him

Confessing our sins is helpful and is the first step
The blood that Jesus shed for us covers us
As we confess sins to Him, our mediator, we are forgiven
But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light,
we have fellowship one with another,
and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins,
and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
1 John 1:7-9
Then we have to actually repent,
to fear God enough to desire to turn away from sin,
and then to draw from His strength,
We should seek Him for wisdom as to
how best refrain from continuing the sin
He has shown us that is separating us from Him

Keep trying, keep walking in His way and drawing from His strength
Asking for wisdom, fearing Him and knowing He loves you
and wants you cleansed and close to Him
Jesus said, Go and sin no more
That means, keeping our eyes on Him
Putting aside the fleshly desires and wants

Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts:
And see if there be any wicked way in me,
and lead me in the way everlasting. Psalm 139:23-24

1 Timothy 2:5

Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come,

but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak:
and he will shew you things to come.
John 16:13

While it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts,
as in the provocation.

I the Lord search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings.
Jeremiah 17:10
