Cleansing

Behold, thou desirest truth in the inward parts:
and in the hidden part thou shalt make me to know wisdom
Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean: wash me,
and I shall be whiter than snow.
Make me to hear joy and gladness;
that the bones which thou hast broken may rejoice.
Hide thy face from my sins, and blot out all mine iniquities.
Create in me a clean heart, O God;
and renew a right spirit within me. Psalm 51:6-10

Cleansing our insides is a constant process
We are being reminded of His mercy and His grace and His goodness
and His completed sacrifice on the cross and His resurrection
For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup,
ye do shew the Lord’s death till he come
. 1 Corinthians 11:26
as well as His rightful place and position:
Wherefore God also hath highly exalted Him,
and given Him a name which is above every name
: Philippians 2:9
When we draw closer to Him,
we are then reminded of how impure we are
The solution is always to ask for and receive His cleansing,
to commit our hearts to Jesus so He can wash us as need may be

And when the Pharisee saw it,
he marvelled that He had not first washed before dinner.
And the Lord said unto him,
Now do ye Pharisees make clean the outside of the cup and the platter;
but your inward part is full of ravening and wickedness.
Ye fools, did not He that made that which is without
make that which is within also?
But rather give alms of such things as ye have;
and, behold, all things are clean unto you. Luke 11:38-41

The last sentence of that passage seems to imply that alms,
that is giving of all sorts of forms of intangible gifts,
whether tangible such as money or food or otherwise
such as mercy, kindness, grace, love,
are what God is preferring and contribute to our purity
Being concerned about washing the cup on the outside is not of importance
The specific act of God’s cleansing is important and is Eternal

No man, when he hath lighted a candle, putteth it in a secret place,
neither under a bushel, but on a candlestick,
that they which come in may see the light.
The light of the body is the eye: therefore when thine eye is single,
thy whole body also is full of light; but when thine eye is evil,
thy body also is full of darkness.
Take heed therefore that the light which is in thee be not darkness.
If thy whole body therefore be full of light, having no part dark,
the whole shall be full of light,
as when the bright shining of a candle doth give thee light. Luke 11:33-36

A simple question: How do we keep our lights burning brightly?
There are a multitude of ways and answers
Jesus can and will reveal those to you in His word
as you read and absorb His character,
it will be apparent how we are cleansed
and how we can keep His righteousness glowing within us
