Cold Love

Cold Love is empty, good for nothing
It certainly isn’t love at all

And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.
Matthew 24:12

I think an overt example of cold love might be the mass of people
wanting Pilate to release Barabbas
But they cried, saying, Crucify him, crucify him. Luke 23:21
Pilate wanted to release Barabbas
The people wanted Jesus to be crucified

We will see brother will deliver brother unto death
Brother will betray brother to death, and a father his child;
and children will rise up against parents and cause them to be put to death.

Matthew 10:21

Some people are sure it won’t happen in the West but the stage is being set

Cold love can be overt or hidden,
could be quiet coldness like betrayal or undermining
It is an ugly part of human nature, the flesh that we are to guard against
That is why it is so important to walk in the spirit
because our flesh is so self-righteous and likes to correct others,
whereas, God’s grace toward each of us is so beautiful
As people seek Jesus, He transforms them inwardly
A lack of love can prohibit God’s Love from operating through us
Jesus came to seek and to save that which was lost

I saw a difficult scene yesterday
It was with school children
One girl was wearing something three other girls thought was risqué
The rage they had inside was evident
They were yelling at her at the top of their lungs for all to hear
There was no love or kindness or compassion
for the girl in the unapproved outfit
It was simple moral superiority
He who is without sin, cast the first stone

So beware, this is something Jesus warned us about
We are about to see massive division
between those who love God and those who wish to follow His ways, demonstrating love and grace to bring others into the kingdom
and those who are out to correct and make sure that others follow their rules
Most people will not be attracted to Christ by people who point out others’ sins to condemn them

Be careful
Satan is very crafty
He has many methods to draw us away from the fruits of the spirit
Let all be done in love and aim to keep your love warm toward others
