Come near to Me
Jesus beckons us to come near to Him
To listen, to hear
To seek Him,
To understand His ways and learn of Him
If we draw near to Him, He will draw near to us
If you have a glimpse of the Lord Jesus, that is,
if He has revealed Himself to you, you are blessed
Many push Him aside,
They refuse His call
They are so wrapped up in their own selves and their own lives
that they do not place God as a priority
They might lose their opportunity
God has feelings, too
If He reaches out to you, do not refuse His call
God will not always strive with man
God is extremely patient
He knows more than any of us that Eternity is a very long time
Our chance to be redeemed is on this Earth
where we have the opportunity to receive our Savior and live for Him
Many people forget the second part of that sentence
The ‘Live for Him’ part
They are convinced to receive Him is enough
That is not what He asks of us
The demons in Hell believe in tremble
God asks more of us
He asks us to carry our cross
He asks us to obey His commands
He asks us to follow Him
To confess our sins
To love our neighbor as ourselves
To forgive
and many other commandments that are vital to our walk with Jesus
Handing your life over to Jesus is no easy task
Walking through this world, carrying your cross
and testifying of what Christ has done in your life and in your heart
is an effort that can be difficult at times
The narrow road is not easy to find and even harder to stay on
Because instant rewards are much more satisfying to the flesh
If you forget your way, perhaps get disenchanted with the narrow road,
and carrying your cross and living for Christ,
it’s time to have a heart to heart with Him,
draw on His strength and let Him renew your stamina
This is a race we’re running and though difficult at times,
For since the beginning of the world men have not heard,
nor perceived by the ear, neither hath the eye seen, O God, beside Thee,
what He hath prepared for Him that waiteth for Him. Isaiah 64:4
