Comparing ourselves to others leads to envy and covetousness.
We will never be like someone else.
While we might admire others and their talents or abilities,
we were each created in God’s image and His likeness and He loves each of us uniquely.
God made that pretty clear when He designed each of us with our very own DNA, fingerprints,
and many other individual traits such as voice and distinct eye details.
Some people seem really spiritual or say things that show they know the Lord.
To look to them as examples to follow is idolatry.
He gives us mentors and leaders who will give us the right advice.
That advice should never point to themselves to show how great they are,
but to Jesus and what a wonderful Savior He is.
Leaders who are true disciples of Jesus will always point others to Jesus.
This is by teaching us His word and how He longs to fellowship with each of us.
The good leaders will help others to grow in their relationship with Him.
Jesus is who we should look to and carefully learn from others who profess the name of Christ.
For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ. 1 Corinthians 3:11
And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets,
Jesus Christ Himself being the chief corner stone; Ephesians 2:20
