And the Lord said unto him,
Now do ye Pharisees make clean the outside of the cup and the platter;
but your inward part is full of ravening and wickedness. Luke 11:39
How do we clean the inside of the cup?
Short answer: We don’t. He does.
Jesus spoke a few times of ignoring the way things look,
but encourages us to focus on the more important matters.
I have seen God often over the years, sweeping out my heart.
He does just that. He sees things that we don’t see
and shows us so we can help us to understand our folly.
This time it’s a little different.
He’s cleaning out the corners on this specific area.
There is no more loose dirt to sweep.
Now, He seems to be using a finer tool that can loosen the packed in dirt
in order to clean that area.
I told Him it’s of no use.
I don’t even know how to let go of those things.
Peter saith unto Him, Thou shalt never wash my feet.
Jesus answered him, If I wash thee not, thou hast no part with Me. John 13:8
That tells us that Jesus has to cleanse us.
We can prepare ourselves the best we can,
but only God can cleanse us from sin.
Excellent post. We are a work in progress.
Yes, very true.
