David experienced God’s forgiveness and was able to extend it to others
David was able to commit Saul into God’s hands
not needing to punish Saul
but to trust the Lord God to give Saul his just reward
David spared Saul’s life when he could have easily killed him
David did this because he respected the Lord
and knew that God had set Saul up as king
and until God removed him,
David was going to let Saul be King
and let God deal with him
While the chapters on David do not tell much
about how David learned God’s kindness and mercy,
we know that he knew of it
and had experienced it as he mentioned it throughout the Psalms
David had a strong knowledge and faith of God’s righteous Judgment
That might have been why it was so easy
for David to trust God with Vengeance
That is a part of forgiving,
realizing that God will repay,
Realizing that God will sort it out
Vengeance is Mine I will repay says the Lord
And if another person needs a lesson,
who better than God to teach that person the lesson?
Our Creator who made that person,
who understands that person
and who knows how and why
that person did whatever it was they did
Our ability to trust God
What a way to think of a situation
when another has wronged us
or caused us harm
That our Creator, our Father, our God, our Jesus
will be able to reach down and possibly help the person to be a better person
or maybe even help us to be a better person in the process
A close friend had an issue with a family member
She said to me, I am not Jesus, I cannot forgive like He can
I suggested she ask Jesus for help and to heal the situation
Since she did not want to let bitterness grow in her heart,
that is just what she did
The Lord helped her forgive and allowed for the relationship to be healed
Hiding things from God never works,
Asking Him for help does, always
Maybe not in your way,
but Jesus will bring the power of His Holy Spirit
to work things out for good
There is always the right answer in Jesus
Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. Matthew 11:29
