Then touched he their eyes, saying, According to your faith be it unto you.
And their eyes were opened; and Jesus straitly charged them, saying,
See that no man know it. Matthew 9:29-30
Why do you suppose the Lord Jesus wanted them to tell no one?
There really is no answer given as to why He told them not to tell,
but it is interesting to consider.
So many people are deceived.
The truth is completely hidden to some.
The truth is rejected because people are living their own truth.
We do not have the capability to open the eyes of the blind.
Only Jesus can do that.
If we look at those in the bible whom Jesus healed of blindness,
they all came to Him to receive their sight.
Their blindness is a metaphor, a consideration
of what might have been spiritually happening
when those who were blind desired to receive their sight.
Jesus answered, Neither hath this man sinned, nor his parents:
but that the works of God should be made manifest in him.
I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work.
As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.
When He had thus spoken, He spat on the ground, and made clay of the spittle, and He anointed the eyes of the blind man with the clay,
And said unto him, Go, wash in the pool of Siloam,
(which is by interpretation, Sent.)
He went his way therefore, and washed, and came seeing.
The neighbours therefore, and they which before had seen him
that he was blind, said, Is not this he that sat and begged?
Some said, This is he: others said, He is like him: but he said, I am he. John 9:3-9
This was much more than the physical healing.
This was a strong spiritual statement from God.
The truth was given to many people through this miracle.
Those who refused the truth remained deceived and their spiritual eyes closed.
And, we can say that presently:
Those who refuse the truth remain deceived and their spiritual eyes closed.
