There are so many Christians who think they have arrived.
They consider their revelations full, complete.
They are deceived.
None of us knows it all.
None of us has arrived at the complete truth.
Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life:
no man cometh unto the Father, but by Me. John 14:6
Jesus is the truth.
We can never have truth without Him.
We can never arrive at the truth without Jesus, Who is the Truth.
Arriving at a foundational doctrine is not the be all end all.
Jesus is the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End.
Jesus is the be all, end all.
None of us will ever be completely free
from the dangers of deception without Jesus.
Without Jesus, there is no truth.
Without Jesus, there is no arriving.
We will never be in the truth without Him.
Then Jesus said unto them,
Take heed and beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees. Matthew 16:6
Then understood they how that He bade them
not beware of the leaven of bread,
but of the doctrine of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees.
Matthew 16:12
Satan is still up to his old tactics.
Nothing new.
For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof,
then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods,
knowing good and evil. Genesis 3:5
So, don’t think that once you know what you know that you are like God.
We will never be without God.
God holds all knowledge, He holds all truth, He holds all wisdom.
It all belongs to Him.
We are the branches. We will never be the vine. Jesus is the vine.
I am the Vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in Me, and I in him,
the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without Me ye can do nothing.
John 15:5
Some people don’t like to hear that
we cannot accomplish anything without Jesus.
Well, you can do things without Him, without His blessing,
without honoring Him if you so choose.
That is the stem of pride.
Nothing we do without Jesus will count for anything.
Seek Jesus’ recognition.
If we do things to be seen of humans, we already have our reward.
Take heed that ye do not your alms before men, to be seen of them: otherwise ye have no reward of your Father which is in heaven. Matthew 6:1
Moreover when ye fast, be not, as the hypocrites, of a sad countenance:
for they disfigure their faces, that they may appear unto men to fast.
Verily I say unto you, They have their reward. Matthew 6:16
Remain humble in His word.
God’s word is alive.
What you understand today will be built upon.
When we seek Jesus, He opens up more of Himself to us, more of His word.
The Holy Spirit teaches us more richly.
The new revelations will not necessarily conflict with what we already know.
The new revelations we receive will likely compliment what we have learned.
If we are walking in the truth, seeking the truth, loving the truth,
the truth is what we will learn and grow in.
Once a human embraces man’s doctrine,
then that doctrine is what they seek, that doctrine is what they build upon. They constantly look to verify that doctrine.
Jesus wants us to learn from His Holy Spirit as He teaches us from His word.
If we get settled in this doctrine or that, we are missing God.
There are often good lessons from man’s doctrine,
but following doctrine is not the same as following Jesus.
Deception is there in its many forms, if one thing doesn’t work to trick you, another one will be tried.
Hide yourself in Jesus’ truth, bow to it and let truth become a part of you.
Forget the tree of knowledge of good and evil.
It comes in all shapes and sizes and has the most enticing delicacies.
It looks big and strong, but really, it is small and frail.
Deception is never what it seems to be.
