None of us is above deception.
If we elevate ourselves to think we can
stay out of error in our own strength, we are mistaken.
Jesus has to be who we lean on to keep us out of deception and in the truth.
We will never get to the place of truth where we are exempt from deception.
We need to stay in the truth, with our full armour on us in every way,
not having any breach or opening where the enemy can penetrate.
Here are several admonitions in the bible:
Pray without ceasing (1 Thessalonians 5:17)
Touch not the unclean thing (2 Corinthians 6:17)
Remain in the fear of God (Proverbs 8:13)
Humble yourself in the sight of the Lord (Matthew 18:4)
Seek the Lord while He may be found (Isaiah 55:6)
Let the Holy Spirit lead you and guide you into all truth (John 16:13)
Love the truth (2 Thessalonians 2:10)
Hate that which is evil, cling to that which is good (Romans 12:9)
Look on the lovely things (Philippians 4:8)
Be content (Hebrews 13:5)
Do not covet (Exodus 20:17)
Do not love money (1 Timothy 6:10)
Love not the world neither the things in the world (1 John 2:15)
Stay in the Spirit of Life in Christ Jesus (Romans 8:2)
Do not venture into the Spirit of Sin and Death (Romans 8:2)
Do not leave God’s covering (Psalm 91:1)
Have on the full armour of God (Ephesians 6:10-17)
And there are many more
I heard a strong Christian, someone who loves the Lord, say that she watched
a Satanic concert. This music star is a professed Satanist and somehow this
woman got interested in the concert. She spoke of the evil specifically. She even watched the concert twice. Twice?
We all need to be very careful. We are never to participate in darkness, which is what this lady did. By watching it, the forces of evil are pulling her in. While
we are protected by God, by fascination, we can be drawn into darkness.
Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you, 2 Corinthians 16:7 KJV
Satan clearly has his hands in a lot of things: Movies, Music, Video Games, Pornography, Fantasy, Darkness of all kinds, Books, Cartoons, this list is endless. We are not supposed to participate in the unfruitful works of darkness.
And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness,
but rather reprove them. Ephesians 5:11
Each step we take, we are making a choice. We need to continue to carry our cross and cut off those things that are of the devil and not love the world.
