Do Not Grieve the Holy Spirit

And grieve not the holy Spirit of God,
whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.
Ephesians 4:30

We do not belong to ourselves if we have chosen to live godly in Christ Jesus
The Holy Spirit is very sensitive
If we belong to Him, the last thing we should do is grieve Him

What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost
which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?

1 Corinthians 6:19

It is obvious that sinners are grieving the Holy Spirit
That believers can grieve the Holy Spirit should give us pause
I have experienced that before
It is a terrible feeling to grieve the Holy Spirit
A lack of love, harsh words, unleashed anger,
things that might not overtly seem like sin
Anything that harms another does grieve the Holy Spirit
We can also have the Holy Spirit share with us His grief for what others do
That is usually so we can share His burden
and pray for those who are grieving Him
At times, He may want us to be a peacemaker if we have the opportunity

Since the Holy Spirit is our comforter, it seems He is the heart of God,
The deepest, most intimate part of God’s character
The one who feels and responds to God’s innermost being
Let us never grieve Him or if we do, correct it right away
He cares very deeply and wounds from grief
Honor Him and learn what grieves Him
so you can steer clear of disappointing Him
or hurting others, which hurts Him

But when the Comforter is come,
whom I will send unto you from the Father,
even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father,
He shall testify of me: John 15:26

This tells us that the Holy Spirit is sent from the Father and testifies of Jesus, that means knowing Christ means knowing the Holy Spirit and the Father
So listen when He shows you His grief and the things that hurt Him
or our fellow human beings
We are encouraged to exemplify His fruit
Kindness and love and all the other good fruits we are to able to bear

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
Galatians 5:22-23
