Judge not, that ye be not judged.
For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged:
and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.
Matthew 7:1-2
It is impossible for us to see inside anyone’s heart
unless the Lord gives us that knowledge by divine revelation
With that, you’d better be sure He really showed you that
and what the purpose was
This happened with Paul
He was able to see the ugliness of the hearts of Ananias and Sapphira
who conspired to lie to the Holy Spirit Acts 5:1-10
If the Lord shows you what is in someone’s heart, It would be for a purpose
Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not,
and ye shall not be condemned:
forgive, and ye shall be forgiven:
Luke 6:37
I have an old friend whom I never see except on rare occasions, like funerals
She is a professed Christian who has been in an adulterous affair for 30+ years
We had conversations about it many years ago,
when that relationship was new, we were closer
She knew the word of God and justified what she did
The only thing God has ever said to me about her is:
Do not comfort her in her sin
There was nothing more to say to her
She knew what she was doing was wrong and had made a conscious decision to participate in that and God did not want me to play a part
Judgment was not really mine and I was convicted in my participation
The Lord has His ways and reasons of teaching us about sin
As situations may come up where exposure happens,
sometimes that is so that we can help correct by the word of God
never to condemn someone, that is God’s place
God has a way of lifting persons out of sin, if they receive His hand of help
Judge not according to the appearance,
but judge righteous judgment.
John 7:24
Guard your hearts from hatred, envy, strife
and do not judge lest you be judged
It is a very serious offense to condemn someone
and expose their sin to others
None of us has that right,
unless it is somehow to help them according to the bible
Their deeds will come before the Righteous Judge,
the God of the Universe
We do not want to be like the disciples
who wanted to call down fire from heaven
onto people who rejected Jesus:
And when his disciples James and John saw this, they said,
Lord, wilt thou that we command fire to come down from heaven,
and consume them, even as Elias did?
But he turned, and rebuked them, and said,
Ye know not what manner of spirit ye are of.
For the Son of man is not come to destroy men’s lives,
but to save them. And they went to another village.
Luke 9:54-56
Let Him not have to say to us:
Ye know not what manner of spirit you are of.
Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy. Matthew 5:7
Scriptural References:
And above all things have fervent charity among yourselves:
for charity shall cover the multitude of sins.
