And because iniquity shall abound,
the love of many shall wax cold. Matthew 24:12
These times are filled with rage
You can see it from every angle
So much division
So much hatred
So much strife
This politician
That church leader
He thinks this
She stands for that
The word of God is slandered
Jesus takes a back seat in most people’s lives
He isn’t even considered or is despised in the lives of others
Whosoever therefore shall be ashamed of me and of my words
in this adulterous and sinful generation;
of him also shall the Son of man be ashamed,
when he cometh in the glory of his Father
with the holy angels. Mark 8:38
It can be hard to love our enemies
But, what good is a Christian without Love?
Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels,
but have not love,
I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal. 1 Corinthians 13:1
We must choose to do so
This will not be in our human strength,
But it is possible with God’s strength
Letting God love through us
This takes yielding and submitting to Him
It takes laying our lives down for Him
It takes remembering what He has done for us and how He has loved us
A new commandment I give unto you,
That ye love one another; as I have loved you,
that ye also love one another. John 13:34
As He has loved us?
Like I said, impossible in our human strength
Draw from that well of Living Water filled with all His goodness
But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water
springing up into everlasting life. John 4:14
In these dark times, this is the way we can continue to walk in His spirit, without His love flowing in us and through us,
we would become ineffective for Him
Lord, we pray, help us to keep our love warm
