When Jesus walked on the Earth, the Religious Leaders were offended at His words.
That has happened throughout the bible.
Cain is the first one I noticed who was offended at God’s words.
God called him on it.
And the Lord said unto Cain, Why art thou wroth? and why is thy countenance fallen? Genesis 4:6
Cain gave God what he wanted to instead of what God asked of him.
It’s easy to do that. We must be careful because even if what we give is a sacrifice for us,
God requires what He requires and He wants obedience rather than sacrifice.
Not every one that saith unto Me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven;
but he that doeth the will of My Father which is in heaven. Matthew 7:21
We serve God on His terms, not ours. He requires much of us.
A half-baked life toward God is not going to cut it.
We must love Him and love His word of truth. We must follow Him whole-heartedly.
And why call ye Me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say? Luke 6:46
