Jesus said, When I return, will I find faith on the earth? (Luke 18:8)
Has He shown you something and given you faith for that very thing and it felt really strong when you first received your answer, but some time has gone by and you don’t feel as strongly that He truly is going to bring it to pass?
Surely the Lord God will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets. Amos 3:7
God most often does give us an indication of what He is going to do. Our faith may waiver. He is still going to do it. But it is perfectly fine to ask for the Lord to give you faith. I believe, Lord, help thou my unbelief (Mark 9:24)
Praying His will is always helpful as a form of prayer:
But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do:
for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.
Be not ye therefore like unto them:
for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him.
After this manner therefore pray ye:
Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you: But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses. Matthew 6:7-15
It has been my experience to not decide how a prayer should be answered. I have had situations where I thought the answer was going to come one way, but instead, it came a completely different way. I learned quick that God works things out for our good His way (Romans 8:28)
Things that we are concerned about should always be put in the hands of God who doeth all things well (Mark 7:37). We don’t see all and know all. “I know that, whatsoever God doeth, it shall be for ever: nothing can be put to it, nor any thing taken from it: and God doeth it, that men should fear before him.” Ecclesiastes 3:14
What is our part besides praying in faith and trusting God? Keep our hearts clean and pure before Him. If we have any unforgiveness or if our intentions are not right or if we are not treating someone well, gossip, slander, not being kind, etc., our prayers will be hindered (1 Peter 3:7). Wish your enemies well and let God’s love rule in your heart.
Scriptural References:
But I say unto you which hear, Love your enemies, do good to them which hate you,
Bless them that curse you, and pray for them which despitefully use you.
And unto him that smiteth thee on the one cheek offer also the other; and him that taketh away thy cloak forbid not to take thy coat also.
Give to every man that asketh of thee; and of him that taketh away thy goods ask them not again.
And as ye would that men should do to you, do ye also to them likewise.
For if ye love them which love you, what thank have ye? for sinners also love those that love them.
And if ye do good to them which do good to you, what thank have ye? for sinners also do even the same.
And if ye lend to them of whom ye hope to receive, what thank have ye? for sinners also lend to sinners, to receive as much again.
But love ye your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again; and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be the children of the Highest: for he is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil.
Be ye therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful.
