Does God’s Power Belong to Us?

The simple answer to that is Yes and No
We belong to God if we have given our lives to Him
He tells us of power we will receive
You will receive power from on high…
And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you:
but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem,
until ye be endued with power from on high
. Luke 24:49
We are vessels
Though that power is ours, it is only ours because He lives in us,
if we allow Him to work through us
We cannot perform healings
Or any miracles
That is the seed of pride and how The Devil himself fell
Pride
Wanting to be like God

Signs and wonders shall follow them that believe…
And these signs shall follow them that believe;
In my name shall they cast out devils;
they shall speak with new tongues;
They shall take up serpents;
and if they drink any deadly thing,
it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick,
and they shall recover
. Mark 16:17-18
But the power is not ours
He gives us power to be used by Him through us
not separate from Him
We can do nothing without Jesus
We are the branches
The branches of a tree or vine will wither away and die
as soon as they are separated from the stem that gives them life

I am the vine, ye are the branches:
He that abideth in me, and I in him,
the same bringeth forth much fruit:
for without me ye can do nothing. John 15:5

None of us should claim the miracles to be ours
or walk in arrogance about how much we can do with God’s power
Stay away from teachers who elevate themselves
We all have access to that power
Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them. Matthew 7:20
It is a beautiful thing
when Jesus’ disciples point to Jesus instead of themselves
That is good fruit that will benefit the Kingdom of God
Remember that that power comes from God above, His Holy Spirit
There is nothing we do that grants the miracles
Our efforts should be on knowing Jesus Himself,
His word,
His desires,
praying,
fasting,
and very importantly, getting to know who Jesus is
Those signs and wonders will follow us because we follow Jesus
Woe unto those who proclaim they are so wonderful
and use the miracles of God to elevate themselves
Very bad fruit
Without repentance, they most assuredly
will be among those who the Lord is speaking of when He says:
Not every one that saith unto me,
Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven;
but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
Many will say to me in that day,
Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name?
and in thy name have cast out devils?
and in thy name done many wonderful works?
And then will I profess unto them,
I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

Matthew 7:21-23

Point people to Jesus
Always
In everything you do, say, think,
Let Christ be glorified
