A Psalm of David, when he was in the wilderness of Judah.
O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee:
my soul thirsteth for thee,
my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is;
Psalm 63:1
First fruits
Giving God your virgin thoughts
Keeping Him at the front of the line
Before you do anything
Before you start figuring out your day, your life
Let His thoughts rule
Who He is, what He has already done
What He may have for you
What He may want to say to you
What He may want to show you
Listen and give Him your best
The clean slate
His mercies are new every morning
The battle ahead can be waged with His strength
The kings of old sought after His will
before they went forth to claim lands and subdue kingdoms
God would say: ‘Go forth, I will deliver them into your hands’ or ‘Wait’
But they sought Him and when they listened, it went well for them
Sometimes God spoke through the prophets and other times,
God spoke to them directly
The manna the Israelites gathered is representative of the Bread of Life
Give us this day our daily bread a line from the Lord’s Prayer
They were to gather manna in the morning or it would melt away
And they gathered it every morning, every man according to his eating:
and when the sun waxed hot, it melted. Exodus 16:21
Listening for God’s voice
Communing with Him before you let your mind get filled with other things
Giving God the first fruits, our offering of time
Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse,
that there may be meat in mine house,
and prove me now herewith, saith the Lord of hosts,
if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it. Malachai 3:10
Our time is a precious gift to God
