Excusing yourself from obeying God’s word
In other words, justifying sin, even if it’s not yours,
perhaps counseling others or excusing others’ sin
For My thoughts are not your thoughts,
neither are your ways My ways, saith the Lord.
For as the heavens are higher than the earth,
so are My ways higher than your ways,
and My thoughts than your thoughts. Isaiah 55:8-9
Any human who overrules God is not respecting God and His authority
People can do it and they will also reap the consequences
Walking with humility before the Lord, in the fear of the Lord
and loving the truth are vital elements of following Jesus
There are no excuses
And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish;
because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.
And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion,
that they should believe a lie:
That they all might be damned who believed not the truth,
but had pleasure in unrighteousness. 2 Thessalonians 2:10-12
Where is the fear of God if we rearrange what God meant?
We cannot change God’s word or readjust His word for the circumstances
Unforgiveness is one such subject
Jesus said clearly in The Sermon on the Mount,
For if ye forgive men their trespasses,
your heavenly Father will also forgive you:
But if ye forgive not men their trespasses,
neither will your Father forgive your trespasses. Matthew 6:14-15
People choose to hold resentment in their hearts for all sorts of reasons
The Lord’s Prayer even incorporates how important it is to forgive:
Forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors.
If any choose to put their reasonings above God’s word,
they will answer to God as we will for everything we put above God’s word
Humans are not to judge
God is the righteous judge
His word is solid, cannot be changed
and this goes for all situations or sins
Seeking the truth in God’s word
or sharing the truth in God’s word is judging righteous judgment
If you recognize yourself in this writing and have justified sin,
humble yourself before the Lord and seek Him on what to do
He will make clear to you what He requires from you
Making amends with God is a beautiful thing
He is full of compassion and mercy and love toward those who fear Him
But if we are staunch against Him and His word,
we are placing ourselves above His word and His commands
and justifying our sin or excusing it instead of seeking remission
As we excuse ourselves and do not seek God’s will,
we are elevating our thoughts above God’s thoughts
Casting down imaginations,
and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God,
and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;
2 Corinthians 10:5
John 1:1 explains it best: In the beginning was the Word,
and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
The warnings are clear and some people ignore them
All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine,
for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: 2 Timothy 3:16
For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man:
but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost. 2 Pet. 1:21
Let God’s word dwell in your heart richly
and always humble yourself before it
