Eyes on the Prize

I have fought a good fight,
I have finished my course,
I have kept the faith:
Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness,
which the Lord, the righteous judge,
shall give me at that day:
and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing
.
2 Timothy 4:7-8
Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith;
who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame,
and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God
.
Hebrews 12:2

Keep your eyes on Jesus the author and finisher of your faith
How do you think Abraham made it through?
Or Lot?
Or Noah?
Or Moses?
Joseph?
David?
Job?
Daniel?
John the Baptist?
Jesus?
The Disciples?
Paul?
They had at least one thing in common
They had hope and even knew there was more to this world
than the natural eye could see
They believed the promises of God

The things the prophets of old had to endure
proved they had a relationship with our Savior
The revelation of who God is carried them through
It is easy to get distracted if we let ourselves
Let us remember to go into the holy of holies
as often as we need to get filled back up,
to be able to continue to endure in the wickedness of this world
Keeping our eyes on Jesus
Keep marching on on our journey
Toward Christ
Stopping only to spend time with Christ to let Him strengthen us,
to direct us and give us the tools we need
to keep on the narrow road
and to help us captivate our thoughts to the joy that is set before us

Here is our Prize:
Behold, he cometh with clouds;
and every eye shall see him,
and they also which pierced him:
and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him.
Even so, Amen.
Revelation 1:7
And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet,
and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds,
from one end of heaven to the other
. Matthew 24:31
