If there is one thing that gets under my skin, that would be fakeness.
Being fake is like lying. You never can trust those people who are fake.
They lie to you without lying to you.
They are afraid to be honest. Or they think their honesty does not matter.
It’s a personality flaw. It also is deception, an untruth.
Give me the truth, no lies.
Being polite is not being fake.
We can always be kind. We always should be kind. We should never be fake.
Jesus was kind to the wicked and the unthankful.
That may fall under the category of loving your enemies and doing good to those who harm you
as Jesus instructed us in Matthew 5:44:
But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you,
and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;
But love ye your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again;
and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be the children of the Highest:
for He is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil. Luke 6:35
These fake people are everywhere.
They can pretend to wish you well, but will betray you in an instant.
Some are sickly sweet, but can never be trusted.
As soon as you walk away, they are whispering about you to another to elicit strife and hatred.
The fake people feast on gossip and slander.
And withal they learn to be idle, wandering about from house to house; and not only idle,
but tattlers also and busybodies, speaking things which they ought not. 1 Timothy 5:13
Their efforts are toward discord and they do create dissention.
The Lord Jesus will fight for you in these seemingly small circumstances as long as your hands are clean. Stay away from the things that cause us to fall, keep your armour on and remain in God’s shadow.
If you choose to leave His ways by unforgiveness or retaliation,
there are many wicked devices from the enemy ready to pounce.
Try as you may not to let it touch you,
and remind yourself to keep your eyes on Jesus
with love in your heart and pity toward those who are choosing to devise harm to others.
This verse of Amazing Grace came to my mind this morning:
Through many dangers, toils and snares
I have already come:
’tis grace has brought me safe thus far,
and grace will lead me home. -John Newton 1779
Christ Jesus is walking with us through our trials and snares.
He will not let us down.
He will recompense us when evil is plotted against us.
We won’t even know all the workings of the wicked,
but God sees all and He will restore what they devise to take from us.
