Wherefore the Lord said,
Forasmuch as this people draw near Me with their mouth,
and with their lips do honour Me,
but have removed their heart far from Me,
and their fear toward Me is taught by the precept of men: Isaiah 29:13
True fear of God given to us from God, how do we get it?
The right kind of fear?
What does it mean to fear God?
To really fear Him?
To tremble at His Word?
For all those things hath mine hand made,
and all those things have been, saith the Lord:
but to this man will I look,
even to him that is poor and of a contrite spirit,
and trembleth at my word. Isaiah 66:2
A person who is ashamed of the Bible or even parts of the Bible
is lacking the Fear of God
Who trembles at My Word
Should God be corrected even if His words offend?
Any good teacher, any true teacher of the word of God,
points you to Jesus so that you can cultivate your relationship with Him
and learn from Him yourself
All doctrines of man are fallible,
even if they have scripture as their foundational truths
Doctrines and teachers lack the wisdom and guidance of the Holy Spirit
Some of their teachings may have truth in them
Following any man or man’s doctrine is not going to get you to the truth
You must rely on the Holy Spirit yourself,
have your own relationship
and wrestle with God when you don’t understand something,
not seek the doctrines of man
Many people have done just that
They have a system set up
Their doctrine teaches from the Bible but is unable to bring understanding
of the true fear of God and what it means
The reason for that is because true fear of God comes from God Himself,
not from any human
When we seek answers from another human, any human, no matter how knowledgeable and well-versed in the Bible they are,
we are dismissing God and accepting another to be our mediator
Learning from the Holy Spirit is the most pure way to learn
He is your teacher and your guide
Howbeit when He, the Spirit of truth, is come,
He will guide you into all truth:
for He shall not speak of himself;
but whatsoever He shall hear, that shall he speak:
and He will shew you things to come. John 16:13
Seeking God and His wisdom and desiring to revere Him,
knowing that He is capable of casting us into Hell
is just the beginning of our walk with Him
Those of us who haven’t yet achieved that would do well to humble themselves and seek Him with prayer and fasting until we get there
If you follow any doctrine or any teacher, denomination, you are missing it
The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom:
and the knowledge of the holy is understanding. Proverbs 9:10
Jesus warned us to Fear God
But I will forewarn you whom ye shall fear:
Fear him, which after He hath killed hath power to cast into hell;
yea, I say unto you, Fear Him. Luke 12:5
Without the Fear of God from God, we risk going astray
