Fear the Lord, Not the Circumstances

The Bible mentions many times for us not to fear Psalm 91
Do not fear what man can do
Do not fear the pestilence
Do not fear the darkness
Jesus called Peter to walk on the water with Him
and when Peter started to sink, Jesus reached out His hand to him,
to pull him up

We are to fear the Lord, but anything else that happens to us,
that we face, God is with us and He will see us through, if we look to Him

He is faithful
He is strong
He is able
God created the Heavens and the Earth,
surely He can take care of little ol’ you and little ol’ me

Rest in His love
Know that He knows the future
He knows what is going to happen today and tomorrow and the next day,
all the way until the end of time and eternity after that

Perfect love casteth out fear
Which means we would do well to try as hard as we can
to understand His love toward us
Let His Holy Spirit, the most excellent Teacher teach you
God’s love is perfect
Comprehending that can help you be free from fear
Knowing that He is watching over you,
fighting for you, protecting you,
ordering your circumstances and forgiving you when you seek it
He is always happy to see you coming to His throne
knowing He can right all wrongs,
letting Him work all things out for good

Do not fear, God says

Let Him love you
And ask Him to teach you and show you
and help you to realize how much He loves you
The fear will evaporate
His word says, perfect love drives out fear
It won’t help much if someone else tells you that,
God has to make it real to you
So, get as close as you can to Him,
seek His face, listen to Him so you can let His perfect love be real to you

Scriptural References:

And he said, Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship,
he walked on the water, to go to Jesus.
But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid;
and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me.
And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand,
and caught him, and said unto him,
O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt?
Matthew 14:29-32

The Lord thy God in the midst of thee is mighty;
he will save, he will rejoice over thee with joy;
he will rest in his love, he will joy over thee with singing.
Zephaniah 3:17

There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear:
because fear hath torment.
He that feareth is not made perfect in love.
1 John 4:18

And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God,
to them who are the called according to his purpose.
