But we are all as an unclean thing,
and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags;
and we all do fade as a leaf;
and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away. Isaiah 64:6
Our efforts in our own strength are filthy
If we offer gifts to the Lord, trying to repay Him for what He has done,
we are offering an insult
Jesus paid it all
Ye are bought with a price; be not ye the servants of men. 1 Corinthians 7:23
If you have given Jesus your life and chosen to follow Him,
one command to consider is this:
For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body,
and in your spirit, which are God’s. 1 Corinthians 6:20
In other words, everything you do in the flesh, let it be done unto the Lord
Jesus does the cleansing, Jesus does the purifying
so He can present us Holy to the Father
Trying to pay God back is insulting,
but being thankful is another thing entirely
I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God,
that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy,
acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. Romans 12:1
Peter saith unto Him, Thou shalt never wash my feet. Jesus answered him,
If I wash thee not, thou hast no part with Me. John 13:8
Unless the Lord cleanses us, we are not clean
Don’t even try on your own, it is futile
