These things I have spoken unto you, that in Me ye might have peace.
In the world ye shall have tribulation:
but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world. John 16:33
Ah, to find the peace of God within our trials
What a lovely thought, to be able to rest in the ship
that is being tossed to and fro
And He said unto them, Where is your faith?
And they being afraid wondered, saying one to another,
What manner of man is this!
for He commandeth even the winds and water, and they obey him. Luke 8:25
Where is your faith?
Jesus was asleep, resting, knowing there was nothing to be concerned about
Getting wrapped up in the troubles of the world is so easy
Those troubles seem to bombard us daily
Sometimes it seems as though we’re buried with troubles
This takes practice and trust and faith
Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you.
I do not give to you as the world gives.
Do not let your hearts be troubled; do not be afraid. John 14:27
We just have to figure out how to get there,
how to be at peace when the seas are raging and the times are tough
The first thing that comes to mind is:
And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb,
and by the word of their testimony;
and they loved not their lives unto the death. Revelation 12:11
This scripture gives us at least two ways to overcome:
By the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony
By the cleansing and saving blood of Christ, the Lamb
and by the word of their testimony, of Him and what He has already done
But thanks be to God,
who always leads us triumphantly as captives in Christ
and through us spreads everywhere the fragrance of the knowledge of Him.
2 Corinthians 2:14
When we share what God has done for us, that strengthens our faith
That is a testimony of what He has done
That He is a Living God
We most likely have had times when we have prayed
and God has come through for us
We can reflect on those and if we can’t think of anything at the moment,
if nothing is coming to mind, we always have the Word,
which is filled with stories of where God has come through for His people
both in the Old and New Testaments
Sometimes we have to just trust, even if we’re not very good at it
We’ll become better and better each time,
because we are causing our flesh to not be in charge
learning to rely on the truth of Jesus’ word and trusting God like a child
strengthening the souls of the disciples and encouraging them
to continue in the faith.
“We must endure many hardships to enter the kingdom of God,” they said.
Acts 14:22
Yes, we must endure many hardships to enter the Kingdom of God
