I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. Philippians 3:14
Trying not to focus on the earthly rewards can be a daunting task.
We’re reaching for the heavenly kingdom, the eternal treasures.
It’s not always easy.
Keeping our focus where it should be is a constant battle.
The streets of Gold, The pearly gates. Revelation 21:21
The walls of Jasper and Emerald and Topaz and other beautiful stones. Rev 21:19
The throne of judgment where we will hope to be found in the Book of Life.
And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God;
and the books were opened: and another book was opened,
which is the book of life:
and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. Revelation 20:12
Remembering where our loyalties are found.
Keeping Jesus first and foremost.
And without His love and grace, we would end up nowhere at all.
Jesus is our prize and the wonderful thing about our relationship
is that it starts right here, right now.
Those who keep a foot in the world may never find the treasure.
They might not ever understand what awaits those who trust in God.
In fact, even when we do trust wholly in God, we might not understand.
We know only because His word tells us of the wonderful things that await us.
But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard,
neither have entered into the heart of man,
the things which God hath prepared for them that love Him.
1 Corinthians 2:9
Some say, what you don’t know can’t hurt you.
On the contrary, the less we know about God, that can be detrimental.
Learn all you can about Him.
Read and study His word and ask Him for wisdom and understanding.
So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. Romans 10:17
Comprehending His word
will be the beginning of the great treasure you will find.
None of us will completely comprehend until we pass from this world to the next
and are able to see fully with our spiritual eyes.
